Samenvatting
I am interested in the development of our relationship with our direct surrounding. In how we connect and shape our direct environment with our behaviour.
My work aims at revealing the beauty and concerns of our relationship with nature. I am deeply concerned by the current climate crisis and awareness of this is inherent in my work.
I love making something as abstract as a discussion visible and tangible. More often than not research findings feed into unexpected angles grounded in history. An example of this is the representation of the fragile position of women in a patriarchal society through the visualisation of paper flowers.
My process begins by researching the theme and environment it occurs in. What events shaped its current being and how is this information recorded over time in its presence. These elements develop into work that demands its own material and expression.
I believe the work aims at starting conversations and sharing viewpoints.
I use my strength to analyse and summarise in a clear and condense way to trigger people’s reflection process on their own behaviour and actions, with a particular focus on topics like nature, climate and social equality
